The how-to of self expression
through sound
Our Mission
Science of Music LLC connects teaching artists with students K-12. Our group music classes and ensembles take a scientific and craft-based approach developed over years as professional musicians and teachers.
Music is a means for self-growth, community building and understanding natural science. Our primary goal is to bring a joyful, fun, and scientific approach for students to understand music, understand themselves and let loose on stage or in their own writing and recording.
Our repertoire includes songs from all over the world and has a heavy influence in the music of James Brown, as taught to us by Fred Thomas of the J.B. 's (James Brown’s primary bass player over a 35-year period).
Vision Statement
Our vision at Science of Music is to be a leading organization in holistic self-development, transforming lives through the synergistic power of arts, science, and education. We envision a future where every individual we engage with is empowered to reach their full potential with the skills, knowledge, and mental fortitude necessary to navigate life's challenges. We believe in community building and the boundless possibilities born from perseverance.
